Need a hand? We’re just a call away and happy to help out.
Handwoven in collaboration with master artisans in Sandoná, Nariño, our Rumba Placemats are designed for celebration. Presented as a set of four, each placemat features a subtly different beaded border design — creating a vibrant yet harmonious tablescape where no two pieces are exactly alike.
The round woven base is crafted from natural iraca palm fibres, carefully stained using natural dyes to achieve its deep black tone. This refined foundation highlights the remarkable skill required to transform iraca into intricate woven works of art, a craft for which Sandoná’s weavers are internationally renowned.
Encircling each placemat is a sparkling beaded edge inspired by traditional chaquira necklaces, handwoven by the Embera Indigenous women of Risaralda. The interplay between the dark woven base and the luminous beading creates contrast, movement and joy — quite literally jewellery for your table.
Entirely handmade and sustainably crafted, Rumba frames our hand-painted plates and bowls beautifully, adding drama, texture and festive elegance to any gathering.
